Scheon Associats used their experience and expertise to renovate the former Roosevelt School Building. To preserve the appearance of the original school, the exterior was stripped and cleaned to bring back the rich color of the brick.
The four story building is home to the sixteen apartments with a variety of unique features. Wherever possible existing materials were restored and reused, such as hardwood floors, door openings and interior common brick masonry walls. The double hung tall windows and high ceilings gives light and airiness to the units. The new kitchen and dining areas of the upper apartments are elevated to the original stage level of the original fourth floor gymnasium.
Garages were added which resemble the building design. The landscaping was used to bring back the old neighborhood school feel. The rich colors and openness of the property in the heart of a residential area gives the Roosevelt Apartments a special appeal to tenants and the surrounding neighborhood
